# Access questions for data room links in Peony

Access questions have been in Peony's virtual data room since November 21, 2025, on the Data Room plan and above: custom questions a visitor must answer before a shared data room or document opens, such as which fund they represent. Answers are saved with the visitor's activity.

## What does it do?

Access questions (called link fields in the app) add your own questions to the screen a visitor sees before a link opens. The visitor answers them once, and you see the answers next to that visitor's views.

## Who is it for?

Anyone who needs context on who is reading: a founder asking which fund an investor is with, a sell-side advisor asking a buyer's role, or a team qualifying inbound readers before sharing a deck.

## How does it work?

1. Open a link's settings.
2. Add one or more questions under access questions.
3. Visitors answer before the content opens, after any email verification or NDA step you have turned on.

## How does it compare?
