Ansarada Pricing in 2026: The Full Rate Card, Verified ($244 to $8,579)
Last updated: August 2026
I'm Chris Chen. Before joining Peony, I worked in M&A at Moelis & Company across cross-border, healthcare, industrials, and consumer transactions. Ansarada is one of the few legacy-adjacent VDRs that shows numbers before a sales call; the catch is what happens to those numbers as your data grows. We transcribed its full published pricing guide in August 2026. This is the verified map.
TL;DR: Ansarada prices on a self-serve grid: storage bucket × commitment term. From its published pricing guide, verified August 2026: on a 12-month term, rooms run $244/month (250 MB), $699 (1 GB), $979 (2 GB), rising by storage tier to $5,134/month at the 20 GB top bucket; month-to-month, the same buckets run $479, $1,479, $2,044, up to $8,579 at 20 GB. Smaller 50 MB and 100 MB Essentials rooms sit below at $69–$189/month. The published grid runs all the way to 20 GB — only rooms larger than that route to a custom quote. Every bucket includes the same feature set — you are buying storage headroom, not capability tiers — plus a free-until-live policy (no charge until you invite an external guest or 90 days pass). The catch is the shape of the ladder: it is priced per room by storage tier, so a document-heavy M&A room climbs it fast — a 2 GB room already runs $979–$2,044/month. Flat-rate rooms like Peony ($52/admin/month, unlimited storage) never meter that climb.
At a glance: the verified numbers
Every figure below carries an as-of label. The ladder rates are from Ansarada's published pricing guide, verified August 2026 — the authoritative storage-bucket-by-term rate card.

For a flat-rate contrast on the same page: Peony Data Room is $52/admin/month on annual billing ($75 monthly) with unlimited storage and file size, so none of the per-GB mechanics below apply.
How much does Ansarada cost?
Ansarada costs between $69/month (a 50 MB Essentials room on a 12-month commitment) and $8,579/month (a 20 GB room billed month-to-month), from its published pricing guide, verified August 2026. Here is the complete published grid — every cell, USD per room per month, by storage bucket and commitment term:
| Storage bucket | Month-to-month | 3-month term | 6-month term | 12-month term |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 MB (Essentials) | $99/mo | $89/mo | $79/mo | $69/mo |
| 100 MB (Essentials) | $189/mo | $159/mo | $149/mo | $129/mo |
| 250 MB | $479/mo | $374/mo | $329/mo | $244/mo |
| 1 GB | $1,479/mo | $1,134/mo | $959/mo | $699/mo |
| 2 GB | $2,044/mo | $1,574/mo | $1,319/mo | $979/mo |
| 5 GB | $3,069/mo | $2,614/mo | $2,299/mo | $1,834/mo |
| 10 GB | $4,348/mo | $3,699/mo | $3,264/mo | $2,599/mo |
| 20 GB | $8,579/mo | $7,294/mo | $6,434/mo | $5,134/mo |
Source: Ansarada's published pricing guide, verified August 2026. Priced per room; longer commitments lower the monthly rate. Rooms larger than the 20 GB top bucket route to a custom quote.
Two things make this ladder unusual for a legacy-adjacent deal VDR. First, you can see the number yourself — Ansarada is one of the rare incumbents that publishes a self-serve quote instead of gating every figure behind sales. Second, the price is driven entirely by stored data volume and commitment length, not by pages, seats, or features. Every bucket ships the same capabilities; you pay for storage headroom and a term discount.
The month-to-month rate is the honest catch on the entry price. That $244 figure assumes a 12-month commitment. Bill monthly and the same 250 MB room runs $479/month — the month-to-month rate carries a steep premium over the 12-month rate at every room size ($479 vs $244 at 250 MB; $8,579 vs $5,134 at 20 GB). So the "starts at $244" headline is real, but it is the most-committed corner of the grid for a 250 MB room. Price the term and bucket you will actually use.
If a flat number is easier to plan around, Peony Data Room is $52/admin/month ($624/year per admin, derived) with unlimited storage — a 250 MB room and a 30 GB room cost the same, and we serve 8,000+ customers on that model.
How does Ansarada's pricing ladder work?
Ansarada's grid works on two axes: the storage bucket your room occupies, and the commitment term you pick. Published buckets run 50 MB, 100 MB, 250 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, and 20 GB; terms run month-to-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month. Bigger bucket, higher price. Longer term, lower monthly rate. That is the whole mechanic.
Walk the axes with the August 2026 rate card:
- Cross the term axis at a fixed room size and the monthly rate drops as you commit longer — at 250 MB, the same room costs $479 month-to-month, $374 on a 3-month term, $329 on 6 months, and $244 on 12 months. The 12-month rate carries a steep discount to the month-to-month rate at every size.
- Climb the storage axis at a fixed term and the price rises bucket by bucket — on a 12-month term, 250 MB is $244, 1 GB is $699, 2 GB is $979, and the 20 GB top bucket is $5,134/month ($8,579 month-to-month).
The feature set does not change as you climb. Unlike a tiered SaaS plan where the expensive tier unlocks capabilities, every Ansarada bucket includes the same room features; the larger buckets simply hold more data. So the decision is not "which features do I need" but "how much data will this room hold, and for how long am I willing to commit." That is a cleaner question than most VDRs let you ask — the cost simply climbs bucket by bucket as your room grows, all the way to the 20 GB top of the published grid.
A note on where the numbers live. Ansarada publishes this full rate card in its pricing guide, laid out as a storage-bucket-by-term grid. If you build a quote in its interactive selector and see a figure that disagrees with an older screenshot floating around the web, trust the current published guide — storage-tier pricing gets refreshed, and stale third-party numbers are common.
What happens as your room climbs the storage ladder?
As your room grows, you move up to the next storage bucket, and the monthly price steps up with it — all the way to the 20 GB top of the published grid, at which point rooms larger than 20 GB route into a custom sales conversation. The steps get steep quickly. Here is what a 12-month-term room costs as it climbs, from the same August 2026 rate card:
| Storage bucket | 12-month term | Month-to-month | Step up from prior bucket (12-mo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 250 MB | $244/mo | $479/mo | — |
| 1 GB | $699/mo | $1,479/mo | +$455/mo |
| 2 GB | $979/mo | $2,044/mo | +$280/mo |
| 5 GB | $1,834/mo | $3,069/mo | +$855/mo |
| 10 GB | $2,599/mo | $4,348/mo | +$765/mo |
| 20 GB | $5,134/mo | $8,579/mo | +$2,535/mo |
Two things to notice. The ladder is per room and priced entirely on stored data — a 20 GB room on a 12-month term is $5,134/month, and billed month-to-month that same room is $8,579/month. And the jumps compound: crossing from 10 GB to 20 GB adds $2,535/month on an annual term, more than the entire cost of a 5 GB room.
Here is why the shape of that ladder matters more than the headline entry price suggests: M&A rooms climb storage buckets faster than teams expect. A data room's storage is not driven by document count; it is driven by document weight. And the heavy files are exactly the ones due diligence demands:
- One folder of scanned executed contracts. Signed agreements come back as image-heavy PDFs, not clean text. A few hundred scanned pages at high resolution can run into gigabytes on their own.
- Management-presentation and site-walkthrough video. A single well-produced video file can be larger than an entire text corpus.
- Engineering drawings, plats, or high-resolution imagery in industrials, real estate, and infrastructure deals — big files that stack quickly.
Any one of those can climb a room several buckets up the grid mid-process, which means your budgeted $979/month at 2 GB can become $2,599 at 10 GB or $5,134 at 20 GB at exactly the moment you have the least leverage — mid-deal, with bidders already inside and no time to migrate. How high your room will climb the storage ladder is the single most important thing to plan around, because the price is driven entirely by stored data volume. Sizing for a document-heavy diligence process is precisely where a flat, unlimited-storage room removes the variable — one reason I lay out the flat-rate versus per-GB math in a dedicated post.
What do you get at each price point?
You get the same feature set at every price point — that is the defining fact of Ansarada's model, and it is verifiable from its own published buckets. The difference between the $244/month corner and the $8,579/month corner of the grid is storage headroom and commitment term, not capability. Ansarada does not withhold security, access controls, or its AI deal tools from smaller rooms; a 250 MB room and a 20 GB room are functionally the same product with different storage ceilings.
That makes the "what do you get" question simpler than it is for tiered competitors, and it is a point in Ansarada's favor. What you are paying for as you climb:
- More stored data, bucket by bucket, up to the 20 GB published ceiling.
- A lower monthly rate, as you commit to a longer term — the 12-month row carries a steep discount to the month-to-month row.
- More storage headroom — the larger your bucket, the more data your room can hold before it steps up to the next tier.
What genuinely comes with the platform, and is worth crediting: AI deal-preparation tools (Ansarada has invested heavily here and it is a real strength for advisor-led processes), the free-until-live policy that lets you build a room before you pay, and a deep APAC and advisor footprint from Ansarada's origins in that market. If your workflow centers on those, the ladder is buying you something real.
Where I would set expectations: page-level intelligence. In my own diligence work, what I want from a room is not just "who opened this document" but "which pages did this bidder actually study." That page-by-page depth is where flat, analytics-forward rooms tend to go further — Peony reports page-level engagement on every tier including the free one — but Ansarada's document-level analytics are solid for standard processes.
How does Ansarada pricing compare to other data rooms?
Ansarada is the most transparent of the legacy-adjacent deal VDRs and usually the cheapest published entry point among them, but it meters on storage, so a document-heavy room erodes that entry-price edge as it climbs. The comparison below uses figures from our own pricing research — every competitor number is sourced to a Peony post, not to memory or a vendor sales deck.
| Provider | Pricing model | Published entry / typical | Above the entry | Transparency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ansarada | Storage bucket × term | $244/mo (250 MB, 12-mo), verified Aug 2026 | rises by storage tier to $5,134/mo at 20 GB (12-mo), $8,579 monthly; custom quote only above 20 GB | Self-serve grid — publishes numbers |
| iDeals | Storage-tiered / per project | ~$500–$1,000/mo entry (our data) | $1,500–$3,000/mo higher tiers | Quote-based; publishes no figures (our teardown) |
| Datasite | Per page | ~$0.60/page; ~$68K/yr avg (our data) | $50K+ per-deal floor, ~$190K ceiling | Quote-only, no public figures |
| Firmex | Project-scoped | ~$150–$500/mo entry; $5K–$10K mid-market project (our data) | $25K+/yr multi-room | Quote-only, no public figures |
| Peony | Flat per admin | $52/admin/mo Data Room ($75 monthly); $30 Business; Free tier | Same flat rate — unlimited storage & file size | Fully published, self-serve |
Two honest reads of that table. First, among the incumbent deal VDRs, Ansarada is the one you can actually price yourself — Datasite and Firmex hide every number behind a sales call, and iDeals' own pricing page is gone. Credit where it is due: Ansarada does the unglamorous work of publishing a ladder, and that is rare in its category.
Second, the models diverge on what happens when your room grows. Datasite meters on pages, iDeals and Ansarada meter on storage, and all three make a document-heavy diligence process more expensive the more diligence you actually do. A flat model inverts that: the price is the same whether the room holds 500 pages or 500,000. For a full field survey with 13 providers, our virtual data room cost guide and VDR pricing transparency index go deeper — the index actually grades Ansarada an A for publishing its complete ladder.
Is Ansarada good value, and for whom?
Ansarada is good value for a room whose size and duration you can forecast, run by a team that wants a self-serve number and values AI deal prep — and poor value for an open-ended, document-heavy process whose storage keeps climbing the ladder. Value here is not a single verdict; it is a fit question. Segmenting honestly:
Ansarada is a strong fit when:
- You can predict room size and keep it in the lower buckets. A text-forward raise or a tightly scoped sell-side that will not balloon fits the cheaper end of the published grid cleanly, and you get a real price before any sales call.
- You want AI deal-preparation tools and value Ansarada's genuine investment there — a legitimate differentiator for advisor-led processes.
- You operate in or sell into APAC, or run advisor-heavy workflows, where Ansarada's footprint and origins are a real advantage.
- Your timeline is short and you value the free-until-live policy — you can build the room and only start paying at go-live.
Ansarada is a weaker fit when:
- Your room will be document-heavy or open-ended. Scanned contracts, video, and drawings push you up the storage ladder toward the pricier buckets — a 5 GB room is $1,834–$3,069/month, a 20 GB room $5,134–$8,579/month — so the more diligence you run, the more you pay.
- You cannot promise yourself a close date. Across our dataset of 334 closed deals, the average ran about 8.6 months, and the tail is long. A storage meter that keeps running through a slow deal is a budget liability; a long-term commitment you exit early wastes money.
- You run many concurrent rooms and want one predictable per-seat number to budget across a portfolio, rather than a separate storage-metered contract per room.
For that second column, a flat model is built for the uncertainty: Peony Data Room is $52/admin/month with unlimited storage and no per-GB meter, which is why 8,000+ customers use it for deals whose duration they cannot pin down. Where Ansarada genuinely wins — self-serve transparency among the incumbents, AI deal prep, APAC and advisor reach — it deserves the credit.
How do you avoid per-GB surprise bills?
You avoid per-GB surprise bills by sizing for peak storage instead of starting storage, matching your term to a realistic close date, and — if you want the variable gone entirely — choosing a flat-rate room with unlimited storage. The surprise on any metered model is never the base price; it is the climb, and on Ansarada that is the jump to the next storage bucket — a room that grows from 2 GB to 5 GB steps from $979 to $1,834/month on an annual term, and from 5 GB to 20 GB it more than doubles again.
Three concrete moves:
- Buy the bucket for the folder you dread, not the one you have. Estimate your room at its heaviest — the scanned-contracts folder, the video walkthrough, the drawings — and size the storage tier to that peak. Getting surprised into a higher bucket mid-deal is the expensive way to buy storage you could have committed to up front at a longer-term rate.
- Match the term to your realistic timeline. The 12-month rate is the cheapest per month, but only if you actually run 12 months; a short deal on a long term wastes the commitment, and a long deal on a month-to-month term pays the premium the whole way. Price the term you will really use.
- Remove the meter if you can. If your storage genuinely cannot be forecast — which describes most live diligence — a flat model with unlimited storage means peak usage never moves you up a storage tier at all. That is the structural fix, not a negotiation tactic.
For the full economics of why metered rooms surprise buyers and flat rooms do not, our flat-rate versus per-GB pricing breakdown runs the math on a document-heavy deal.
The bottom line
Ansarada earns real credit for doing what almost no other incumbent deal VDR does: it shows you a number. The self-serve grid — $244/month (250 MB) rising by storage tier to $5,134/month at 20 GB on 12-month terms, and $479 up to $8,579/month billed month-to-month, verified August 2026 — lets you price a room yourself, and the free-until-live policy plus genuine AI deal tools make it a legitimate choice for a forecastable, APAC-or-advisor-led process. Just know exactly what you are buying: storage headroom on a per-room meter that climbs steeply as your data grows, all the way to the 20 GB top of the published grid before a custom quote takes over.
If your deal is document-heavy or its close date is anyone's guess, the per-GB model is working against you, and a flat-rate room is the structural answer. To go deeper on the alternatives and the head-to-head math:
