It emails the workspace when a recipient's link opens from two countries, or places more than 500 km apart, within 60 minutes, or through a VPN, Tor, a known proxy or a hosting provider.

Resumable uploads have been in Peony's virtual data room since October 19, 2026, on all plans: a large file interrupted by a dropped connection continues from where it stopped, and unfinished uploads can be recovered or cancelled from the upload panel. There is no per-file size limit.

Peony virtual data room security: SOC 2 Type II-ready and ISO 27001-ready, audits underway
Since October 17, 2026, Peony has stated that its virtual data room is SOC 2 Type II-ready and ISO 27001-ready, with both audits underway. A DPA is available on request on Deal Team and Enterprise, and a BAA on request on Enterprise.

Peony's data room API, a REST API with scoped API keys, has been live since August 12, 2026. It is a Deal Team feature enabled on request and is included on Enterprise. It creates data room links and uploads files from your own systems, and later releases added link, access-rule and permission endpoints, file deletion and sending agreements from templates.

Re-signable agreements have been in Peony's virtual data room since August 12, 2026, on the Data Room plan and above: you build one agreement, such as a mutual NDA, and every visitor signs their own copy, with no recipient list. Signature analytics and history shipped the same day.

Data room SSO has been on Peony's Enterprise plan since the plan launched on June 16, 2026: SAML SSO with any identity provider (e.g. Okta, Azure AD/Entra ID, Google Workspace), plus Google and Microsoft sign-in. Since October 15, 2026, SSO activation is instant and self-serve: a workspace owner turns it on in Settings.

Since June 16, 2026, Peony's virtual data room has had five published plans, priced per admin with unlimited visitors. Billed annually: Free ($0), Business ($30 per admin per month), Data Room ($52), Deal Team ($64, minimum 4 admins) and Enterprise (custom). Billed monthly, Business is $44, Data Room $75 and Deal Team $89 per admin per month.
