What does it do?
A webhook sends a short event to a URL you choose as soon as something happens on your shared links, so your CRM, deal tracker or team chat hears about it without anyone checking Peony.
Available events:
| Event | Sent when | Since |
|---|---|---|
link.viewed (v1) | A visitor views a shared link | September 15, 2026 |
nda.accepted (v1) | A visitor accepts an NDA on a file or from a template | October 28, 2026 |
Since October 28, 2026, link.viewed events also say whether the link required an NDA.
Who is it for?
Teams that act on engagement as it happens: a banker alerted when a buyer opens the CIM, a founder whose CRM logs each investor view, or a deal team that posts signed NDAs to a Slack channel.
How does it work?
- Open webhook settings from the Settings menu.
- Add an endpoint: your own endpoint URL or a Slack incoming webhook.
- Choose its events. New endpoints start with
link.viewed.
Generic endpoints get a signing secret, shown once when it is created and rotatable later, so your server can check that a request came from Peony. Each endpoint shows its latest delivery result. An endpoint can be renamed, pointed at a new destination, paused or deleted. If an endpoint keeps failing, Peony disables it and emails the workspace.
Which plans include it?
Deal Team ($64 per admin per month billed annually, $89 billed monthly, minimum 4 admins) and Enterprise. See pricing.
How does it compare?
Webhooks are a common way to connect SaaS tools without polling an API. Peony's events cover the two moments deal teams usually follow up on: a view and a signed NDA.

Common questions
Does Peony's data room support webhooks?
Yes. On Deal Team and Enterprise, Peony sends webhooks to your endpoint or a Slack incoming webhook for two events: link.viewed and nda.accepted.
