Advanced due diligence Q&A workflow in Peony's virtual data room

An advanced Q&A workflow has been in Peony's virtual data room since April 21, 2026, on Deal Team and Enterprise: each question moves from a coordinator to an expert and an approver before the answer is shared. The basic two-step workflow is on the Data Room plan.

Plans
Basic workflow: Data Room and above. Advanced workflow: Deal Team and Enterprise.
For
M&A advisors, Investment banks, Corporate development teams

What does it do?

Setting up Q&A now starts with a choice of workflow.

  • Basic Q&A flow: a question submitter sends a question, and an answer coordinator answers it.
  • Advanced Q&A flow: five steps, for answers that need a specialist and a sign-off.

Who is it for?

Sell-side teams where a banker coordinates, the company's CFO or counsel drafts, and someone senior approves before anything reaches a buyer.

How does it work?

In the advanced flow:

  1. The Question submitter sends a question.
  2. The Answer coordinator reviews it and assigns it to an expert.
  3. The Expert drafts an answer.
  4. The coordinator reviews the draft and sends it for approval.
  5. The Answer approver approves it and shares it with the submitter.

Open the data room's Q&A tab, click Configure Q&A, choose the workflow, then assign people to each role.

Which plans include it?

Basic Q&A is on Data Room and above. The advanced workflow is on Deal Team ($64 per admin per month billed annually, $89 billed monthly, minimum 4 admins) and Enterprise. See pricing.

How does it compare?

Assign-and-approve Q&A routing is common in M&A-focused data rooms. In Peony it sits in the same room as permissions, analytics and AI document Q&A.
