Admins are people on your team who manage rooms, upload files, reply to Q&A, or manage billing. Each is billed separately: $20/admin/mo on Pro, $40/admin/mo on Business. Viewers (the counterparties who open your shared links) are always free and do not count toward your seat total.

Important: inviting a new admin triggers a pro-rated charge immediately. There is no confirmation step.

What Counts as a Seat

Paid:

You (account owner)
Anyone invited with the Admin role
Anyone invited with the Editor role

Free (always):

Anyone who opens a data room link
Anyone who signs an NDA to access a room
Anyone who verifies email to view files
Anyone who replies to a Q&A thread as a counterparty

If someone only ever touches your rooms as a viewer, they're free and unlimited.

Add an Admin

Open Settings → Team.
Click Invite Member.
Enter their email.
Pick the role (Admin or Editor).
Review the pro-rated charge preview.
Click Send Invite.

The invitee gets an OTP sign-in email. Once they sign in, the pro-rated charge lands on your next Stripe invoice.

Remove an Admin

Open Settings → Team.
Find them in the list.
Click the three-dot menu and select Remove.

Access is revoked immediately. The seat drops from the next billing cycle. No partial refund.

Pro-Rated Charge Example

This is the single biggest billing surprise in Peony.

Scenario: You're on Business ($40/admin/mo) with one admin (yourself). On day 15 of a 30-day cycle, you invite a second admin.

Going forward: $80/month ($40 × 2). The $20 pro-ration only hits that one transition invoice.

On Pro: half the math — $10 pro-ration + $20 next cycle.

Multiple admins invited the same day each generate their own pro-rated line.

Admin vs Editor Roles

Admin — full workspace access. Manage rooms, invite teammates, change billing, cancel, delete rooms, export analytics.
Editor — manage rooms and invite viewers, but cannot access billing, invite teammates, or cancel.

Change roles from Settings → Team. Both Admin and Editor are billed the same.

If You Added an Admin by Mistake

Refundable if caught within 24 hours.

Remove the admin from Settings → Team.
Email sean@peony.ink with:
- Workspace email (account owner)
- The email added by mistake
- Approximate time of the invite

Refund processed same business day. Appears on statement in 5-10 business days.

Before You Invite

Because the charge is immediate:

Does this person actually need admin access, or do they just need to view files? If view-only, send them a link — viewers are free.
Check your plan: $40/month on Business vs $20/month on Pro.
