Custom Branding: Logo, Cover Image, Brand Card
Customize Peony data rooms with your logo, cover image, brand card, and theme so counterparties see your identity, not Peony's.
Last updated July 22, 2026
Peony data rooms carry your branding — logo, cover image, brand card, and theme. Set your logo and company name once at the workspace level (the default for every room), then adjust the look of an individual room from its Appearance settings.
Custom logo and Peony-branding removal are included from the Business tier ($30/admin/month) up. The custom domain is gated to the Data Room tier ($52/admin/month).
What You Can Customize
- Logo. Your company mark. Set the workspace default in Edit workspace branding, or update it inside a specific room by hovering over the logo.
- Company name. Shown next to the logo. Editable on every plan from Edit workspace branding.
- Cover image. Landscape banner at the top of a room's landing page. Off by default on shared links — turn it on with the Display cover image switch (Business tier and up).
- Brand card. Intro screen viewers see before they access files. Edit it in Brand Card Settings.
- Theme. Light or dark styling for the room, plus an optional welcome message, set in the Appearance card (Business tier).
There is no brand-color or accent picker and no footer-text field — branding is logo, company name, cover image, brand card, and theme.
Where to Set Branding
Branding lives on a few different surfaces. This trips people up, so here is exactly where each control is.
Workspace logo and company name
Click the workspace name and logo at the top of the left navigation bar (a pencil icon appears on hover) to open the Edit workspace branding dialog. It has two controls:
- Logo. Click the logo to upload a new one (PNG, JPEG, or WebP). Uploading a custom logo is Business tier and up.
- Company name. A text field. Editable on every plan, including Free. Change it here, then Save.
This sets the default for every room in the workspace.
If the company name next to the logo looks stale after editing your brand card, refresh the page. The two surfaces are separate — the brand card description does not push its name to the top-left workspace label. If it still doesn't update, contact support and we'll correct it on our end.
Logo and banner inside a specific room
These per-room controls are inside the data room itself, not in Settings:
- Logo. Hover over the logo inside the room to update it for that room.
- Cover image (banner). Click the edit button on the bottom-right of the banner to update it. (This control isn't as obvious as it could be — look for it in the lower-right corner of the banner.)
Theme and welcome message
Open the room's Permissions tab, select a group, and open the Appearance card. There you can set the room's theme (light or dark styling) and an optional welcome message. Light and dark modes are available on the Business tier. For a workspace-wide theme default, use workspace Settings (bottom-left of the app home screen).
Brand card
Edit the intro screen in Brand Card Settings, reached from workspace settings (the account menu at the bottom-left of the app home screen) — not a data room's Settings tab.
Two Settings Screens — Don't Confuse Them
Peony has two places called "Settings," and branding controls are split across them:
- Workspace settings — bottom-left of the app home screen. Custom domain and workspace-wide theme default live here.
- A data room's Settings tab — inside an open room. The Show cover image and Show logo display toggles live here (neither is plan-gated).
Custom Invite Email
On the Deal Team tier ($64/admin/month) and up, admins can customize the invitation email sent to viewers on an invite-only link. Open the link's settings and edit the Custom invite email:
- Subject. Overrides the default sender-and-content subject line.
- Logo. Upload your own (PNG, JPEG, or WebP, 512 KB or smaller) via Select new logo.
- Body 1 / Body 2. Text before and after the access button.
A live preview shows the email as recipients will see it. This is distinct from room and landing-page branding, which starts at Business.
Recommended Image Dimensions
- Logo: 400×200 PNG with a transparent background. PNG composites cleanly against the cover image and theme.
- Cover image: 1920×480 landscape. Avoid important text near the edges — it can get cropped on narrow or ultrawide displays.
- Brand card image: 800×600.
Blurry logo after upload? Re-export at a higher resolution (at least 400px wide) instead of scaling up a small file.
Common Questions
Where do I customize my logo and banner? I can't find Branding in Workspace Settings. There is no single "Branding" section in Workspace Settings. Your logo and company name live in Edit workspace branding (click the workspace name and logo at the top-left of the navbar). Inside a specific room, hover over the logo to update it, and click the edit button on the bottom-right of the banner to change the cover image. The brand card is in Brand Card Settings.
Can I set custom brand colors, an accent, or footer text? Not today. Peony branding is logo, company name, cover image, brand card, and a light/dark theme. There is no color-picker, single-accent control, or footer-text field. Per-surface palettes and a configurable in-room CTA button are logged feature requests — see On the Roadmap below.
Is there a light/dark theme selector? Yes. For a workspace-wide default, use Settings (bottom-left of the app home screen). For a per-room override, open the room's Permissions tab → select a group → Appearance. Light and dark modes are available on the Business tier. A viewer-facing toggle is still a request.
The cover image isn't showing on my shared link. Why? The cover image is off by default on shared links. Turn on the Display cover image switch in the link's settings (Business tier and up). It's a per-link toggle, not just a workspace asset.
Can I change the company name shown on the room and in viewer emails? Yes — updating the company name in Edit workspace branding changes both the in-app name and the name recipients see in counterparty emails. Self-serve name changes across an active process are geared toward Deal Team workspaces running multiple deals; contact support if you need it applied to a live room.
Can I reposition or crop the banner image like on LinkedIn? Not yet — you'll need to crop the image to fit before uploading (1920×480 works well). Banner repositioning is on the roadmap.

- Richer landing-page descriptions (photos, hyperlinks) and embeds (YouTube, Calendly).
- Responsive cover/header images at very large viewport widths.
