Peony's API access and Custom integrations are Deal Team tier features. They're enabled on request — email sean@peony.ink to turn them on for your workspace — and are also included on Enterprise. The Deal Team plan is $64 per admin/mo (minimum 4 admins). API access is not auto-included on the Data Room plan.
Beyond programmatic access, the API lets you tie Peony's features into your existing workflows — connecting data room analytics, e-signatures, and viewer activity to the tools your team already uses.
Example Use Cases
- CRM integration. Push data room analytics and signed agreements into your CRM so your deal team sees which buyers are actively engaged without leaving Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Automated counterparty onboarding. When a new buyer or investor is added in your deal management platform, automatically create a personalized data room link with the right permissions.
- Internal dashboards. Pull viewer activity into your own reporting tools to track deal engagement across your portfolio.
- Subscriber management. Sync your payment or membership platform with Peony's email allowlist — when a subscriber churns, access is revoked automatically.
API Keys and Rotation
For security, API keys are valid for one year and are regenerate-only — there is no in-place renewal. Before a key expires, create a new key and update your connected apps. You can keep multiple keys active at once, so you can roll out a new key and cut over without any downtime.
If an automation tool (for example, Relay) starts returning an API error, an expired key is the most common cause. Generate a fresh key, swap it into the automation, and the connection resumes. If you need a short extension to complete a rotation, email sean@peony.ink.
Common Questions
Is API access included on the Data Room plan?
No. API access is a Deal Team tier feature, enabled on request, and included on Enterprise. It's not auto-included on the Data Room plan. If you're on Data Room and need a specific API workflow, email sean@peony.ink — tell us which endpoints you need and how you plan to use them, since rate limits are managed to protect concurrent usage.
Can I pull the audit trail via API (who signed or viewed which documents)?
This isn't self-serve today and is being scoped. Share the exact workflow you're building — including how often you'd poll — so we can fit it within the API rate limits.
Can I connect my own AI, MCP, or CLI tool to a data room?
This is scoped per use case on the Enterprise tier. Email sean@peony.ink with what you want to connect and we'll advise on the best approach.
Do you support Zapier or CRM integrations?
Custom integrations — including Zapier and CRM connections — are available on the Deal Team and Enterprise tiers. They're scoped per use case and enabled on request.
Why do my API keys stop working after a while?
Keys expire one year after they're created, by design. Create a new key before the old one expires, update your connected apps, and you're set. Because multiple keys can be active at the same time, you can rotate without downtime.
